Hossein Hamzeh - Artist & Innovation Manager

Born 1970 in Tabriz/ Iran. In addition to the love of his homeland, the love of carpet art accompanied him when he moved to Hamburg at the age of 14. Now the port metropolis has been the center of his life for more than 38 years. Since 2020 he is the sole shareholder and managing director and innovation manager in the company H.Hamzeh Interior Design UG.

He developed the acrylic carpet board and glass carpet board on his own initiative. “There are no problems, only solutions”, with this attitude he also defied the ongoing Corona pandemic artistic decline and provided a breath of fresh air in the carpet scene. Instead of being thrown out of the saddle, he saw an opportunity to revolutionize Persian carpet art. He developed the world’s first models of carpet acrylic panels and the world’s first carpet glass cassette. The two carpet acrylic panels featuring the Persian Shah’s coin tapestry were awarded the German Innovation Award Nominee and Iconic Award 2021. The artist now continues his work and builds the world’s first Versage-designed carpet glass panel.

Hossein Hamzeh then developed the world’s first carpet glass panel in cooperation with Flachglasgruppe Wernberg GmbH in 2021. The artist received the Inconic Award 2022 for his artistic and design Versace carpet glass panel. He developed the world’s first climate-neutral carpet glass panel. He intended a complete preservation of the hand-knotted carpet. The carpet embedded in the glass does not need cleaning or repair work. The artist thus created the world’s first climate-neutral carpet.

CARPET SYNTHETIC RESIN EPOXY

Three acrylic sheets are used. The first acrylic plate serves as a base plate. The second plate is milled through and hand polished with a roller brush and flame. The outer surface is cleaned with liquid and diamond polished. The third plate serves as a cover plate. The acrylic plates are extroded acrylic plates, which are produced by roller rollers. The thickness tolerances of the plates are smaller than those of cast acrylic. The second frame plate is glued to the base plate from the inside with capilar glue. The cover plate is glued to the frame plate from the outside with the same adhesive. The glue is liquid glue of the brand Acrifix from the company Röhm. The hand-knotted carpet is embedded.

Versatile & CO2-saving

The hand-knotted carpets are made in plexiglass of the company “Röhm GmbH” and walkable whale glass of the largest German glass processing factory “FLACHGLAS Wernberg GmbH” and preserved. The carpet plexiglass and Walkglas panels are used as wall hanging panels or walk-on floor panels in hotels, luxury luxury villas or in interior design, can be used in interiors or exterior surfaces.

CARPET cast in acrylic

The hand-knotted carpets are wrapped in the company’s Plexiglas “Röhm GmbH” cast. The model is free of any air bubbles and clearly visible. The carpet is preserved and does not need cleaning or repair work.

Carpet
glass plate

Hand-knotted carpet is embedded in a glass cassette. The design of the glass cassette can be designed according to various requirements, e.g. for flat support made of toughened safety glass, or for walk-on or walk-on according to standard made of toughened safety glass, if necessary with slip resistance. Primary sealing polyisobutylene and secondary sealing polysulfide polymer protect the panel from air and moisture penetration. The hand-knotted carpet is inserted between the panels.

Stamps Embedded in acrylic PASSEPARTOUT

The stamps are embedded in Plexiglas from the company “Röhm GmbH” Passepartout. Three acrylic sheets are used. The first acrylic plate serves as the base plate. The second plate is milled through and hand-polished with a roller brush and flame. The outer surface is liquid cleaned and diamond polished. The third panel serves as a cover panel. The acrylic sheets are extruded acrylic sheets manufactured via roller rolling. The panels have lower thickness tolerances than cast goods. The second frame plate is glued to the base plate from the inside with the capillary adhesive. The cover plate is glued to the frame plate from the outside with the same adhesive. The glue is Acrifix liquid glue from Röhm. The stamps are embedded.
